How do you handle blog comments?

What do you guys do about responding to blog comments? I like to have "conversations" with people but it seems hard on a blog! I have no idea if people will realize I've responded to them - is there some special way you guys deal with this? Or do I just pray that one day the response will be read by its intended recipient? LOL

There are some blogs that allow plugins for users to "subscribe" and follow the comments. Otherwise, some bloggers actually email reply back to the commenter... I think it's preference...

I always enjoy commenting on their blogs or sending an email to say "hello"!

I think alot of us wonder about that. I usually go to their blog, and comment on the more recent post, adding the answer to the bottom. The odd time I've commented on the post if I think it's something more than one person may want the answer to, but you never know if the original person will come back to read your reply...
quite the dilema, lol!

Mh, good question..... if I have a comment on my blog and there's a remark, or question in it, I go to the blog of the person, and see if the have mentioned an email address in there profile. If not, I leave a comment with an answer.......

And.... sometimes you can check a box that you want to receive other comments on a post, maybe that's a possibility too?

It often feels like a one sided conversation, doesn't it? If there is a question, i go to that person's blog or email to answer. If I think it is a question several people would be interested in, I leave a comment in the comment chain on my blog. Commenting on the person's most recent post is usually fine, but sometimes an email.

Great question. I have done both depending on the comment.

If I leave a comment on a blog that requires a reply I check back.
